The Redco Group is proud to share that two of its member companies were proud receiptents of awards at the 59th Annual International Association of Plastics Distribution Convention in San Diego.
Dale Delmage of Nylatech was presented with the 2015 Paul Davis Award of Merit. Delmage was honored for his many years of outstanding personal and professional contributions to the association and the plastics industry.
Since the early 1990s, Delmage has been a fixture at every IAPD convention and he has been a tireless volunteer in IAPD activities and committees. He has also been one of the driving forces behind the Education Committee, making it one of the most valuable services IAPD has to offer its members. He has been a key volunteer when developing education projects, including the Plastics Certificate Courses Levels 1 and 2, the Excellence in Sales Certificate Courses, numerous editions of the Introduction to Plastics and the PVF Certificate Course.
“Under Dale’s leadership, Nylatech uses the IAPD training materials throughout the organization and he promotes them to every distributor with whom he works. He has also been instrumental in developing a successful internship program, and you can hear him talk about that first-hand on the IAPD website,” said IAPD CEO Susan E. Avery, CAE. “He is truly one of the ‘nice guys’ in the industry who has dedicated his career in growing and expanding the use of all performance plastics.”
Delmage is the president and chief executive officer of Nylatech, Inc., based in Everson, WA, USA. He joined Redwood Plastics Corporation, A Member of Prisma Plastics international Inc., in 1981 after spending a few years in university studying geology. After deciding that a career as a geologist wasn’t right for him, he started work as an inside sales representative at Redwood Plastics, going on to work in all aspects of sales and management. In 2010, Delmage became president and CEO of Nylatech and has been responsible for developing the company into what it has become today. He has a unique perspective of the industry, as he has worked on both the distributor side and the manufacturer side.
Redwood Plastics was the proud recipient of two prestigious awards; the Gold Education Circle of Champions Award and the Gold Marketing Excellence Award
Gold Award – Education Circle of Champions
The Education Circle of Champions has three award levels: Gold, Silver and Bronze. The criteria are demanding, so it is significant that four companies achieved the Gold Level. “I am pleased with the level of dedication these member companies have shown to performance plastics education and sales training for their employees,” said IAPD Education Committee Chair Stephanie Neugebauer. “By using the offerings of IAPD University, such as the free e-training webinars, certificate programs and convention educational sessions, in conjunction with their internal training programs, it is evident these members value and emphasize continued learning within their organizations.”
“The Education Circle of Champions award recipients this year have demonstrated a strong commitment to furthering their employees’ performance plastics knowledge and sales skills,” said IAPD CEO Susan E. Avery, CAE. “I wholeheartedly believe that continued learning is imperative to the success of not only these IAPD members but the longevity of the performance plastics industry. By recognizing the importance of educating and training their staff, these companies have gained a competitive advantage and should be proud of this recognition.”
Gold Marketing Excellence Award
“Redwood Plastics Corporation engaged in numerous activities that helped promote plastics as well as the company’s own expertise, as well as revitalized their website with a new layout and design. Their most successful campaign of the year was their “More than sheet, rod and tube” promotion, which highlighted their finished parts and fabrication/machining capabilities without taking away the availability of stock shapes. Representatives from the company provided articles for two IAPD publications, The IAPD Magazine and the Designing with Plastics e-newsletter, as well as presented a well-attended e-training webinar. The company also is engaged with social media, blogging, promoting its affiliation with IAPD, issuing press releases and more.”
Many thanks to our peers, colleagues and the association for presenting us with these awards. We look forward to another year of dedicated effort in helping to make our industry great.
Redwood Plastics is a proud supporter of IAPD and its member companies. We look forward to each and every event and support their efforts to promote distribution, expand performance plastic awareness, defend plastics environmental perception and educate legislators/regulators, and encourage the emerging workforce to consider an exciting and opportunistic career in our industry.
